MEET MOLLY
Hi, I’m Molly — an elopement photographer helping couples plan mountain elopements across Idaho and Colorado.
I first picked up a camera because of the mountains — the quiet, the scale, and the way everything slows down when you’re out there. Standing somewhere high above the trees, watching the light move across the peaks, I realized how powerful a place can feel. I wanted to capture that feeling.
That’s still what guides the way I photograph today.
Some images focus on the two of you. Others step back and capture the vast landscapes around you.
Every image is individually hand-edited to preserve the natural beauty, light, and atmosphere of the place where your story unfolded — creating a gallery that reflects both the moment and the landscape that held it.
But photographing elopements isn’t just about taking beautiful photos. It’s about helping you experience a day that feels completely your own.
“When I’m not photographing elopements, you’ll probably find me:”
- Exploring mountain trails and camping with my husband (we both have 4x4s)
- Planning our next outdoor adventure
- Watching a sunset somewhere quiet with tea in hand
- Driving a backroad just to see where it goes
The outdoors has always felt like home to me, and I feel incredibly blessed that it’s also where I get to tell people’s stories.
How I Found
Elopements
I started my photography journey in Northern Colorado, exploring trails, alpine lakes, and mountain ranges with a camera in hand. Landscape photography taught me patience — waiting for the right light, the right moment, the right feeling. Over time, couples began asking me to photograph their elopements in those same places.
And I realized something: Those landscapes weren’t just beautiful backdrops. They were part of the story. The moment when you can just sit down and take in the landscape. The quiet of an alpine lake at sunrise. The feeling of standing somewhere vast and realizing this moment will stay with you forever. That’s when I knew this was the kind of photography I wanted to pursue.
My Own Elopement
Elopements
Elopements are personal to me for another reason.
My husband and I met outdoors on a camping trip, and when it came time to get married, we chose to elope ourselves.
Our day was simple, meaningful, and completely centered around being present with each other and the place we chose. No big production — just the mountains, the quiet, and the feeling that the day truly belonged to us.
That experience shaped the way I approach every elopement I photograph.
I know firsthand how meaningful these days can be, and how important it is to create space for moments that feel real and unhurried.
Finding the Places That Feel Like Magic
One of my favorite parts of this work is helping couples discover places they never would have found on their own.
Sometimes it’s a tucked-away trail.
Sometimes it’s a quiet alpine lake at sunrise.
Sometimes it’s a view you reach after a short hike where the mountains stretch for miles in every direction.
Years of exploring Colorado and now Idaho have given me a deep familiarity with these landscapes, and I love helping couples find locations that feel private, breathtaking, and unforgettable.
Places that feel like they were meant for your story.
What It’s Like to Work Together
When couples work with me, they’re not just hiring someone to show up with a camera. I help guide the entire experience — from choosing locations and building a timeline to making sure the day flows naturally so you can relax and actually enjoy it.
I’ll help you:
- Find amazing mountain locations
- Plan a timeline around the best light
- Navigate permits and logistics
- Discover small moments and adventures along the way
And when the day arrives, my goal is simple:
To help you feel comfortable, present, and fully in the moment while I document it all as it unfolds.
If you’re dreaming about an elopement surrounded by mountains. I’d love to help you bring that vision to life.
Because years from now, the photos won’t just remind you of the moment you said your vows. They’ll remind you of the place where it all happened.
